CIE Tours makes it easy for you to plan a self drive vacation in England, Wales and Scotland with two great programs to choose from — Bed & Breakfast stays in over 1,700 locations or a selection of 860 Discover Britain Hotels. Open vouchers give you total flexibility in your itinerary.

Start your vacation in London, Edinburgh, Glasgow or many other locations by picking up your Hertz current model car. Documents will include a voucher for each overnight stay, accommodation listings with descriptions and driving directions, a road map and a discount card for admissions to over 200 attractions.

"Country Rover" - B & B Accommodations

The Country Rover program features a superb selection of 1,700 quality bed & breakfast properties. These family-owned homes can be located in cities, towns or in country areas all around Britain. B & Bs are distributed throughout England (755 homes), Scotland (796) and Wales (132). This provides flexibility so you can create your own personalized itinerary and be assured of comfortable accommodation at the end of a day's touring.

All properties provide a high standard of accommodation in private homes with comfortable rooms and modern facilities. A traditional cooked breakfast awaits you each morning. Every home in the program is inspected regularly to ensure that quality is maintained. CIE Tours will reserve your first B & B stay provided it is requested at time of booking. Some properties offer rooms with private bathrooms at a supplement of UK£3.00 per person, which is payable direct to the homeowner. With your final documents, you will receive a full color accommodation directory with details of all the properties available to you. Once in Britain book accommodation as you travel and the homeowner will assist with onward reservations.

Hotelpass

Hotelpass offers a choice of 860 great hotels located throughout Britain (627 in England, 193 in Scotland and 40 in Wales). Hotels can be found in towns, cities and rural locations and range in size and style. Many hotels are set in delightful gardens and offer scenic views, health clubs or leisure facilities. Rooms feature color TV, radio, telephone and tea/coffee making facilities. Hotel vouchers include room with private bath or shower and full breakfast every morning.

All properties have been rigorously checked to ensure excellent standards of facilities, food and service. The full directory that you receive with your final documents lists the amenities of each hotel.

Rates in this program are based on first class hotels but you may upgrade to a selection of superior and deluxe properties. Superior property supplements are subject to a UK£5 supplement per person and deluxe hotels require a UK£10 supplement per person per night. If you wish, we will reserve the first night at time of booking and then you simply call ahead as you travel through Britain.

This pocket guide offers discounts and two-for-one vouchers to over 200 attractions. These vouchers save you admission fees on a selection of museums, castles, abbeys, gardens and theme parks.

Pre-Pay Car Hire Insurance & Save up to 30%!

Save up to 30% when you purchase Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) and Theft Protection insurance (TP) at time of booking. Departure Dates & Rates chart below include these two insurance policies (CDW/TP). Please refer to the car hire conditions on General Conditions page for additional information.

Note that the daily package price includes car hire for 24-hour periods. If you wish to return your car late on the final day, you may opt to prepay an additional day or pay the extra cost once in Britain.

Departure Dates & Rates

Rates are land only, per person, per day, based on double occupancy and a minimum of 7 nights/7 days. Rates for fewer than 7 days on request. Single Room Supplement (payable direct) per day: B&Bs $8, Hotels $19. Cost for children under 12 sharing room with 2 adults per day: B & Bs $15, in hotels stay free but pay direct for food. Car rental company reserves the right to substitute cars for other models in similar category. Note that the daily package price includes car hire for 24-hour periods. If you wish to return your car late on the final day, you may prepay an additional day or pay the extra cost direct to the car hire company at end of hire. Please inquire about our special air fares to Britain (see samples above).
